Aging Grace Senior Living is a small personal care home opened by Kiana Mills in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The home has four private bedrooms and the care staff provide care for older adults who may need help with things like bathing, dressing, medication management, meals, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
The idea for Aging Grace really came from both Kiana's personal life and career. Her great-grandmother had dementia, and that experience played a big part in why she chose to study gerontology. Kiana went on to earn her master’s degree from Georgia State University and have spent nearly nine years working in senior living.
Over the years, she kept seeing the same problem. There are some wonderful people working in larger senior living communities, but the size of those communities can make truly individualized care difficult. She's seen situations where one caregiver may be responsible for 15 or 20 residents at a time. We knew there had to be another option for families who wanted something smaller and more personal for someone they love.
That’s what she created with Aging Grace. Kiana wanted it to actually feel like a home, not a facility. Because we only serve a small number of residents, we can really get to know each person—their routines, preferences, personality, family, and what makes them comfortable.
For us, Aging Grace isn’t just a business. Kiana spent most of her adult life working with older adults and their families, and this home is really the culmination of everything she learned along the way. We want families to have another choice when their loved one needs more support—a place that is safe and professional, but still feels personal, warm, and like home.
